Monster Movie Picks!

Taffeta's Thursday horror pick for tonight's Halloween movie scare is 1954's "THEM". One of the first of the 1950s "nuclear monster" movies, and the first "giant bug" film. I remember watching this on Rhonda Shear's "Up All Night". A south Texas man gets thrown in the looney bin alter claiming he saw UFOs. From here the reports come rolling in from drunks and military personnel claiming to see giant ants
It's a super cheesy badly produced classic monster movie that any fan of SciFi and horror should enjoy once or twice in their life.

Taylor also loves monster movies and picked 2008's "Cloverfield".
She especially digs giant monster movies. And Cloverfield is definitely a giant monster movie. Part Blair Witch Project and part Godzilla, Cloverfield scared the pants off of me at its midnight showing. The use of handheld cameras emerses you in the terror as you experience everything with the main characters. And those weird giant baby monster spider things? I had nightmares for weeks.
